Myrtle Beach Pier Fishing

The Myrtle Beach Grand Strand has 5 Fishing Piers.

You can fish all day and catch some of the best eating fish the Carolina’s have to offer. Varies such as Pompano, Spots, Drum, Black Bass, Flounder, King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, and Blues are just some of the great fish caught off the piers.

The piers offer many amenities: Fishing Tackle, Live and Artificial baits, Hot and Cold beverages, Rest Rooms, Cleaning Stations, and some have cafes and arcades.

Travel Tip - The pier owners can be a wealth of information about what is being caught, how they are caught and what they are being caught on. So seek their advice, grab your rods and spent a pleasant day on the pier fishing for your favorite fish.

Travel Tip - I have fished all the piers at one time or another and it is hard to say one is better than the others because I had great luck on all of them. However, I will say that I had a wonderful time at the pier at Garden City in Murrells Inlet, it may just been the time of year but I caught more fish than I wanted to clean!

Myrtle Beach Inland Fishing

Fishing the inland waterways around Myrtle Beach and the Grand Strand area can make for a wonderful day of fun and adventure for the entire family. Not to mention some great fresh fish for dinner. Catching such varieties of fish as flounder, whiting, drum and more can add excitement to your vacation.

There are several inland fishing charter captains in the Myrtle Beach area that can put you on the fish. So give them a call and set up a day or two of great fishing fun.

For those of you that prefer to go it on your own, bring your boat and launch at one of the public landings. Then set out for a day of fishing fun.

Travel Tip - Please check with the Department of Natural Resources and Coast Guard about boating and fishing regulations, fishing licenses, size and catch limits before setting out. There's no sense putting a black eye on your vacation with a big old wildlife fine you weren't looking for!
