to a wonderful vacation. Since 1986, when year-round
live theater was brought to Myrtle Beach, the area has emerged as
a hotspot for live family entertainment – offering the best
in shows, music, dance, comedy, dinner theater, and celebrity concerts.

Here are a few theaters to choose from:
Alabama Theatre. This theater is the setting for some of the
best concerts and shows in town, also a top-notch variety show called
One. The list of entertainment legends who have graced this stage
is long. To name a few George Jones; Bill Cosby; Charlie Pride;
Loretta Lynn; Roy Clark; the Coasters, Platters & Drifters;
and Alabama.
Carolina Opry. Founded by entertainer and entrepreneur
Calvin Gilmore, the Carolina Opry started the Grand Strand's theater
boom
in 1986 and has won every top South Carolina tourism award. The
2,200-seat venue offers a medley of music, including country, pop,
gospel, Broadway, jazz and more, plus generous helpings of comedy
and dance. Mr. Gilmore regularly appears on the Grand Ole Opry.
Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede Dinner & Show. The Longhorns!
Started in 2009. You'll have a great time as you enjoy 32 magnificent
horses, singing, dancing, comedy, miniature horse racing, chicken
chasing, friendly North-South Rivalry - while you enjoy a fantastic
four-course dinner.
Good Vibrations! Good Vibrations is a high-energy,
ever-changing production showcasing the hits of the 60s, 70s and
80s, and features
the talented cast of The Carolina Opry. If you loved the songs that
topped the charts during this time, ,you will love the show.
o The House of Blues. The House of Blues offers outstanding people
in blues, jazz, gospel and rock. Examples are: Norah Jones, Edwin
McCain, Counting Crows, Keith Urban, Hootie & The Blowfish,
and Chris Isaac. Other draws for this theater are the Sunday Gospel
Brunch, Teen Dance Night, and Murder Mystery Dinner Theater.
Legends
in Concert. The place to go for superstar look-alikes (and sound-alkies)
such as the Blues Brothers, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis
Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Michael Jackson, Liza Minnelli, and many
other legends. This show is consistently popular with all ages.
Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament. At Medieval
Times Dinner & Tournament,
knights on stallions compete for the audience's attention. Every
performance features thrilling action and a four-course dinner.
A family favorite.
Palace Theatre. The magnificent Palace Theatre
is home to the wonderful smash hit Le Grande Cirque, a mesmerizing
spectacle of
artistry and imagination performed by some of the world's greatest
acrobatic and theatrical performers. The Palace, which was built
in 1995, is home to some of Broadway's greatest shows and celebrity
concerts.
