As humans,  we design devices with precise purpose and high function.   We take pride and glory  as we love and celebrate what we have created.  Even more so it is with God.  Amber and Daniela were created with great purpose.  Today,  we celebrate Amber Franco and Daniela Flores.  It was an honor to have you among us.

Two Myrtle Beach area honor roll, high school teenage girls fell to their deaths Wednesday from the oceanfront Camelot By The Sea hotel while on spring break in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Daniela Flores, 16, and Amber Franco, 17, were on the top floor of the Camelot By the Sea Hotel when they fell from the balcony.

Flores hit the parking deck on the tenth floor of the hotel, and Franco plummeted to the second floor Dunkin Donuts.  These are two separate and distinctly different landing locations which indicated the girls fell from different areas of the high rise hotel balcony.

The girls were dead when emergency responders arrived at the scene around 4 p.m.

Myrtle Beach Police spokesman Joey Crosby stated that foul play isn’t suspected in their deaths, but the investigation is still ongoing.

Our teachers were just as devastated by this as our students were,” Myrtle Beach High School Principal John Washburn told CBS affiliate WBTW. “As you can imagine, all of us,  they become our children, every single one of them. There were several that were deeply affected by it.”

While Lt. Crosby of the Myrtle Beach police said no foul play was involved, questions unanswered by authorities left locals to speculate as to what events caused two girls to fall so tragically to their deaths.

The administration and staff are focused on helping students process this unspeakable loss and are working to assist law enforcement with their investigation,” Horry County Schools spokeswoman Teal Britton said in a statement on Thursday.

While the families have now planned arrangements,  speculation about the reasons for this incident has not yet gone to rest.

Spring is a very special time in America.   Our youth celebrate everything from Proms to Formals, Spring Break to Easter.  Those very celebrations can create their own social pressure for our youth.    Much is made today of family issues, school bullying, cyber bullying and the pressures placed on our youth as a result.

Speculation aside,  every honest reader of our news can not deny that each of us has considered terminating our lives at some point while under great pressure.   It is most often considered when we realize that the circumstances of our lives seem unchangeable, unending, unbearable and we are powerless to make those circumstances go away.

What we do know about these two beautiful girls is they were extremely  intelligent, honor students whose lives ended tragically too soon.  They were the brightest and best our area offered.

While they have been highly celebrated in our community this week,  MyrtleBeachSC.com only wishes they had been more celebrated in their young lives for who they were and how divinely they were created.

As humans,  we design devices with precise purpose and high function.    We take pride and glory  as we love and celebrate what we have created.   Even more so it is with God.  Amber and Daniela were created with great purpose.

Often times,  it is the mocking voices around us that drown out the very purpose God placed in our DNA at the inception of our birth.  Mocking voices attempt to keep us from our destiny.

At MyrtleBeachSC.com,  we know much about such mocking voices.  Every word we write,  every effort we make is approached by scorn from those in power and in government.

It is only because we believe in the absolute power of next Sunday,  resurrection Sunday,  that we continue in hope to be overcomers.   While counselors will certainly offer aid to our community,  it is the knowledge that Christ left an empty grave that keeps all of us from living empty lives while under the pressures of all things America today.

We wish to bless the parents of these two daughters with the hope of that same resurrection power. It is this hope that will allow these parents the ability to move forward without guilt and shame, but also the expectation that God can help them overcome, finding joy in the memories of these precious girls even as these parents’ own lives feel out of control.

In that knowledge,  we as a community celebrate the God created potential in everyone around us.

At MyrtleBeachSC.com, we believe every resident in our community should be fully celebrated.   Every local and every tourist deserve this at a minimum.  We especially celebrate the potential of our youth who will Destin our city’s future.

Today,  we celebrate Amber Franco and Daniela Flores.  It was an honor to have you among us.
