Saturday, February 25th, Horry County residents are inviting all Horry County and Myrtle Beach residents to join them at the beach access parking oceanfront at end streets around 38th Avenue North.  All residents will enjoy a “Lying” On The Beach party.

The Horry County group is known as Make Myrtle Beaches, Free, Clean, and Safe.  The group continues to grow and now is over 3,300 local members.

February 25th is the last Saturday of county-wide free parking for all Horry County residents in Myrtle Beach.  The group asks all to bring their own picnic lunch.   The party will begin at 11 a.m. and run into the afternoon.

Residents are scheduling this event in honor of the last Saturday of FREE PARKING in the city of Myrtle Beach for county residents.  This family event is FREE FOR ALL adults and children.

In an email sent to Horry County Council,  leaders of the group wrote:

“THE LIE IS BIGGER THAN YOU THINK”

Chairman Lazarus and ALL Horry County Councilmen:

We met with Councilman Johnny Vaught yesterday and thanked him.

We ALL were lied to again and cannot stay quiet any longer.

Parking Fees Begin March 1, 2017

The so called compromise for County residents is a bigger sham than we thought.  It is not for County residents.  A few people have called the parking office at 843 626 7275  and were told the same thing. “It is a pass for ANYONE who lives ANYWHERE not in the city.”  [Anyone in the world qualifies for this pass] It is available March 1 and cannot be done online.  It is $100 and you are allowed to park at metered spaces between 6th  and 21st and 69th-77th. You are not allowed to park anywhere in the area locals know as the golden mile.

The Golden Mile has now become a private beach which should not be allowed.

However, enough is enough.  We cannot hold back the masses against stronger, more vocal actions.  We will actually encourage these actions.

MB City’s actions do not make good neighbors and the lack of a compromise is not acceptable.

We appreciate all you are doing, but the city has made it clear this is us versus them. We would like to know what leverage our county will use against the city, to protect US , your county constituents.

We will be posting this email on our site, which has grown over 10% in the last 72 hours.

Thanks,

The Steering Committee of Make Myrtle Beaches Free, Clean and Safe.
